Thiopental Sodium의 마취작용 및 2,3 물질대사에 미치는 Carbon Tetrachloride와 Adrenocorticotropic Hormone의 영향

In order to investigate the influences of CCl₄ and ACTH on the anesthetic and metabolic effects of thiopental sodium, following experimental studies had been carried out with albino rabbits. The anesthetic effect of thiopental sodium was observed by measuring the induction time, anesthetic time, recovery time and duration from the beginning of induction to the recovery of anesthesia (total time), respectively, and the metabolic effects of thiopental sodium was studied by measuring the blood sugar concentration and serum transaminase (GOT, GPT) activities in the rabbits pretreated with CCl₄ and ACTH. In addition to those experiments, catecholamine contents of cerebrum of rabbits was measured after injection of CCl₄ and ACTH. The results were obtained as follows: 1. The induction time of anesthesia by the injection of thiopental sodium was shortened by the pretreatment of CCl₄ but the anesthetic time, recovery time and total time of anesthesia were markedly delayed. 2. The induction time of anesthesia by the injection of thiopental sodium was shortened by the pretreatment of ACTH for one day but anesthetic time was delayed. The induction time and recovery time of anesthesia by the injection of thiopental sodium were shortened by the pretreatment of ACTH for one week. 3. The catecholamine contents of cerebrum of rabbit were not influenced by the CCl₄, injection, but markedly increased by the ACTH injection for one week. 4. The blood sugar concentration and serum GOT activity were not influenced by the thiopental sodium injection but serum GPT activity was markedly increased. However, the pretreatment of CCl₄ followed by thiopental sodium injection decreased the blood sugar concentration but increased serum GOT and GPT activities. 5. The pretreatment of ACTH for one day followed by thiopental sodium injection increased the blood sugar concentration but decreased GOT and GPT activities. 6. The pretreatment of ACTH for one week followed by thiopental sodium injection showed the tendency to decrease the blood sugar concentration, serum GOT and GPT activities.
