가토에서 실험적 상악동염에 관한 연구 (II) : 정상가토에서 실험적 상악동염의 유발기간에 관한 연구

초록

Pneumococcal inoculation following the ostial obstruction is essential to induce the experi-mental sinusitis in the normal rabbits, but the ostial obstruction alone could not induce the experimental sinusitis because of technical difficulty to occlude the natural ostium completely through a middle meatus. Previous study reported that merocel was effective to occlude the natural ostium which resulted in experimental sinusitis in rabbits. The purpose of this study was to induce the experimental sinusitis by occluding the natural ostium with merocel and to evaluate the critical period of ostial obstruction for the sinuses were observed at various interval(i.e, at third day, first, second, third and fifth week) when merocels were removed and then 3 weeks induced the maxillary sinusitis which persisted after removal of merocel.
