초록

A case of a granuloma caused by Candida guilliermondii was presented in a 40-year old woman. She complained about yellowish vesicopustular plaques on the right maxillary area and nose for six months. With repeated fungal cultures, candida grew. The species was identified as C. guilliermondii. Histopathologic examination showed epidermal necrosis and dermal granulomas and numerous spores were found in all sections stained by hematoxylin-eosin, PAS and Gomori stains. Extensive laboratory tests failed to find factors which would predisposed her to a candida infection. The skin lesions improved with oral administration of ketoconazole and topical application of isoconazole cream for eight week. No relapse was noted during a one year follow up.
