Harris-Galante 2형 비구컵을 이용한 인공고관절 전치환술

Purpose: To evaluate the radiographic and clinical results of 66 total hip arthroplasties with the Harris-Galante 2 acetabular cup. Material and Method: The results of 66 total hip replacements with a non-cemented Harris-Galante 2 acetabular component were analyzed. The average follow-up period was 6 years (range, 4 to 9 years). The pre- and post-operative Harris hip scores were measured. For radiologic evaluation of the acetabular components, radiolucent lines, osteolysis, changes of inclination of the acetabular cup, and vertical distance were checked. The wear of the polyethylene liner was measured by the Livermore method. Results: The Harris hip score improved from 54 points preoperatively to 95.6 points at the most recent follow-up. Ten hips (14.9%) demonstrated osteolytic lesions around the cup. Sixty-four hips (97%) were considered radiographically stable, and two hips (3%) were unstable. There were 6 revisions of the acetabular component: two for aseptic loosening, two for locking mechanism breakage and dissociation of the polyethylene liner, and two for locking mechanism breakage and excessive wear of the polyethylene liner. In another hip, only the polyethylene liner was exchanged. The average total wear amount of the polyethylene liner was 0.86 mm, with a rate of 0.18 mm/year. Conclusion: Non-cemented acetabular fixation with the Harris-Galante 2 component showed excellent or good clinical results at an average 6-year follow-up. As follow-up increases, aseptic loosening, locking mechanism breakage, wear of the polyethylene liner, and periprosthetic osteolysis may become increasing.
