두개내 침범을 동반한 측두골 연골육종

초록

Chondrosarcoma of the temporal bone is a rare neoplasm constituting only 0.16% of intracranial tumors. Type of cranial nerve involvement in chondrosarcoma of the temporal bone is related to the specific anatomic location of the tumor. Clinically, it has been confused with multiple sclerosis, glomus jugulare tumors, meningiomas, and chordomas. Ablative surgical treatment seems to be the procedure of choice and the value of irradiation or chemotherapy is still under debate and long term follow up is necessary. The authors experienced a case of chondrosarcoma of the temporal bone in a 27 year-old female with facial palsy. The patient underwent a wide excision via transmastoid and suboccipital approach and then a postoperative radiotherapy. She is free of local recurrence or metastasis for the 18 postoperative months.
