Radioautographic Study of Age Influence in the Osteoblastic Activity in the Femur and Vertebra of Mice

초록

The age influence on the cell renewal system of the osteoblast from mice osseous tissue has been studied by means of radioautography after the intraperitoneal injection of single dose of the tritiated thymidine. The highest active cell renewal rate was found at the age of four-days group, was followed by moderately decreased radioactive indices of one and two weeks old groups. Relatively low R.I. has been observed in three weeks old group and henceforth the R. I. became stable throughout. Slight sexual difference was noted in young adult groups, the rate of male was higher than that of the female group.
