Warts are benign skin tumors caused by virus, most frequently seen in childhood, and with a tendency to regress before reaching adulthood. Various articles have suggested that wart involution may be involved with immune response of the host, but a definite mechanism has not been found. The authors studied the tuberculin sensitivities of patients with warts in order to evaluate immune responses and observed the course of the warts after BCG vaccination, for the facilitation of nonspecific immune reaction. The results are as follows: 1. Sensitivity to tuberculin was decreased among the wart patients compared with the non wart groups. 2. No significant difference was observed between the number of warts and the degree of tuberculin sensitivity. 3. BCG vaccination promoted the involution of warts without changing the tuberculin sensitivity.
