한국여성의 임신말기 질과 신생아 비강내 분비물에서 중합효소 연쇄반응을 이용한 chlamydia trachomatis 감염 진단에 관한 연구

초록

Objective: We performed this study to evaluate the incidence of C. trachomatis infection in the late pregnant women and their newborn infants, the risk of the vaginal infection as a causative factor for premature of rupture of membranes(PROM), and the efficacy of cesarean section to p.revent the vertical transmission Methods: We collected the specimens from the vaginal secretions in third trimester of 210 pregnant women and from the nasal cavity of their newborn infants. We diagnosed the C. trachomatis infection when a specific band was detected in the polymerase chain reaction(PCR) procedure. Results: In the 210 maternal specimens, tewnty-one specimens(10%) were proved to be positive Chlamydial infection. Among the 21 infected mothers, ten pregnant women(47.6%) delivered C. trachomatis infected newborns. Cesarean sections were performed in 11 cases, vaginal deliveries were in 10 mothers, respectively, among the 21 positive mothers. In the cases of 11 cesarean sections from 21 positive mothers, five newborns(45.4%) showed nasal cavity infection. On the other hand, five newborn infants(50.0%) from 10 vaginal deliveries of infected mothers were C. trachomatis positive. Coexistence of maternal vaginal infections and PROM were only 4 cases(1.9%). Conclusions: We could get the informations that the rate of vertical transmissions of C. trachomatis from mothers to newborns are somewhat high, at least half of the cases, in perinatal period. Therefore, we consider it is important that early detection and early treatment of C. trachomatis infection in pregnant women is important to prevent vertical neonatal infection.
