Influences of Reserpine and Chlorpromazine on the Analgesic and Metabolic Effects of Morphine

초록

For the study the influences of reserpine and chlorpromazine on the analgesic and metabolic effects of morphine, following experimental works have been carried out. The analgesic effects were investigated utilizing the hot plate reaction time test in mice, and the metabolic effects were studied measuring the changes of the blood sugar content and serum transaminase activities(S-GOT, S-GPT) in rabbits. The animals were pretreated with reserpine 24 hours before and with chlorpromazine 30 minutes prior to experimental study respectively. The results obtained were as follows : 1. Analgesic effects of morphine were inhibited by the reserpine pretreated but augmented by the chlorpromazine pretreated. 2. The hyperglycemic effects of morphine were augmented by the reserpine pretreated but inhibited by the chlorpromazine pretreated. 3. The increased serum transaminase activities (S-GOT, S-GPT) induced by morphine were inhibited by reserpine pretreated but augmented by the chlorpromazine pretreated. 4. Reserpine and chlorpromazine act not only on the contrary to the analgesic effect of morphine but also act differently on the changes of blood sugar level and serum transaminase activities induced by morphine respectively.
