초록
Normal eukaryotic cells have a family of genes termed proto-oncogenes in their chromosomal DNA. These genes were identified in acutely transforming retrovirus. The function of normal proto-oncogenes is believed to have a role in regulating normal cell growth and development. Recent studies revealed that activation of proto-oncogene causes uncontrolled proliferation of cells resulting in malignant tumor. Oncogene activation is caused by point mutation. translocation. amplification and increased production of oncogene related protein. Among them. oncoprotein is frequently detected in human malignant tumor. The author performed immunohistochemical staining of c-myc. c-H-ras oncoprotein and epidermal growth factor in benign and malignant breast tumors using mono and polyclonal antibodies. The results are as followings. 1. In benign tumors of breast, the positive ratio of EGF was higher than that of c-H-ras and c-myc oncoprotein. 2. In invasive carcinoma of breast, the positive ratio of c-myc oncoprotein is higher than that of c-H-ras and EGF. 3. c-myc oncoprotein is highest in the difference of positive ratio between the benign and malignant breast tumor.
