Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery and Liver Transplantation

초록

Gallbladder cancer (GBC) is known to have a poor prognosis, and curative radical resection is the gold standard treatment. The factors affecting the prognosis of GBC include depth of tumor invasion and lymph node metastasis, warranting proper hepatic resection and lymphadenectomy. Several studies have reported that T1 GBC has a good prognosis with simple cholecystectomy alone. Gallbladder cancers T2 and above are still referred to extended cholecystectomy (Kim et al., Cancer Control. 27:2020). This chapter describes extended cholecystectomy including liver wedge resection and regional lymphadenectomy. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2023.
