  • Annals of Coloproctology is an official journal of the Korean Society of Coloproctology to provide and indepth development of coloproctology in Korea. It was launched in 1985. The title of our journal was changed from “Journal of the Korean Society of Coloproctology (abbreviated title-J Korean Soc Coloproctol)” to “Annals of Coloproctology (abbreviated title-Ann Coloproctol)” since 2013. It is published bimonthly in February, April, June, August, October, and December each year. Supplements numbers are at times published. All of the manuscripts are peer-reviewed. The journal publishes special articles on clinical and basic studies pertaining to physiology, epidemiology, pathophysiology or treatment of the diseases which are originated from the lower digestive system such as colon, rectum, anus and bowel system. The editorial board calls for the articles that originate from worldwide research or clinical study groups and the publication is determined by the editors and reviewers who are the experts in the specific field of coloproctology. The categories of manuscripts are original articles, case reports, reviews and letters to the editor. The journal is published bimonthly and distributed to the members of the Korean Society of Coloproctology, medical school, libraries and related institutes to pursue the academic advancement in coloproctology and to promote an active communication between the members and international societies of coloproctology. Eventually, the journal aims to contribute to cure of the diseases of coloproctology and improvement of public health. This journal is supported by the Korea Research Foundation Grant funded by the Korea Government (MEST) and published in part with financial support from the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies. All or part of our journal contents is indexed/tracked/covered by PubMed, PubMed Central (PMC), KoreaMed, Synapse, SCOPUS, Embase, Web of Science Core Collection, Emerging Sources Citation Index and CrossRef.
