- Papers submitted to JCI Insight should present a focused line of investigation that provides meaningful and impactful contributions to the understanding of the biology of disease or new therapeutic opportunities. JCI Insight articles may build on existing paradigms in the field or provide hypothesis-generating findings (see editorial). Examples of studies suitable for JCI Insight include, but are not limited to, human genetics research, new mouse models of disease, in vivo studies of disease mechanisms, precision medicine, clinical and biomarker studies, and studies that provide new resources for the biomedical research community. Studies should include a relevant in vivo model system and/or a primary human cell or tissue model. JCI Insight builds on the editorial leadership of the JCI, one of the oldest and most respected biomedical research journals, and is self-published by the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI), a nonprofit honor organization of physician-scientists incorporated in 1908. JCI Insight serves to fulfill the ASCI’s objective to advance medical science through the publication of clinically relevant research reports. All articles published in JCI Insight are freely available online from the moment of publication.
